Historic HO gauge passenger car kit representing two famous eastern American railroads. The New Jersey Central Railroad operated this as their primary coach equipment on North Jersey seashore trains between Jersey City/Newark and such coastal communities as Red Bank, Long Branch, Asbury Park, Bradley Beach, Belmar, Spring Lake, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach and Bay Head. The CNJ also operated this equipment on mainline trains between Jersey City/Newark and Phillipsburg, New Jersey/Easton, Pennsylvania. The Reading Railroad operated this type of car on trains between Philadelphia, Reading, Allentown and Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. In conjunction with the Pennsylvania Railroad, the Reading also operated this equipment in the Philadelphia-Atlantic City, New Jersey rail service.
