Pullman's "Poplar Series" 6 Section, 6 Double Bedroom Heavyweight Sleepers were popular with several American railroads--the Pennsylvania and Northern Pacific among them. This particular class sleeper was odd for its era in that it had only one vestibule and 2 Dutch doors. The "POPLAR POINT", clad in its original Pullman Green and Gold livery, served with distinction on the Pennsylvania Railroad between 1937 and the mid 1950's.
